It's a Home and Garden Party this weekend at Sweetwater, as part of  this year's Tour of Homes, sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin.  Homes by all six Sweetwater builders--Ashton Woods, Ryland, David Weekley, Coventry, Drees and Taylor Morrison--will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Strong spring thunderstorms passed over Sweetwater yesterday, and in their wake we found this gorgeous waterfall, fast-running streams, and a brighter shade of green on our Hill Country ridges and canyons.  More rain today--hooray!  Looks like a good weekend to come out and hike our trails.

Drees Custom Homes has unveiled six plans for new homes to be offered in Sweetwater’s Davenport Summit neighborhood.  Drees has also started construction on two homes that are available for purchase and are expected to be ready for occupancy in June.  The Drees model home is also currently under construction

For the third year in a row, Forbes magazine ranks Austin as the nation's fastest growing city.  According to the magazine, the city's population grew by 2.8 percent in 2012 and the number of jobs increased by 3.1 percent.

Mentioned in the article are the Longhorn football team, the top tech talent that Austin attracts, and such events as the South by Southwest tech and music

Austin is the second best place in the country to buy a home these days.  That is among the findings of a recent study by Realtor.com, Forbes magazine reports.

Forbes wrote: “Homes in Austin are selling 20% faster than this time last year, averaging 77 days on the market.  Inventory
