Lots of live music ahead in Sweetwater’s 2022 event calendar
At Sweetwater, we have a very active Lifestyle Director who keeps the fun going all year long with resident events and activities in every season.
For 2022, there are some exciting new additions, along with cherished annual traditions, as our community continues to grow. Some of these new events will take place at our newest community center, the Overlook Club, while others will happen at the ever-popular Sweetwater Club. Quite a few will feature live music – this is Austin, after all!
Here’s a glimpse of what’s to come in 2022, with exact dates and details to come.
In February, we’ll celebrate Valentine’s month with a virtual wedding photo contest, with creative couple-themed gift baskets as prizes for the top three winners. We’re asking residents to send in their favorite wedding photos through the first week of February, and the winners will be selected on February 9. We’ve already received some terrific photos, ranging from sweet to silly.
In March, we’ll host our first-ever Texas Indie Country Music Festival at the Sweetwater Club, complete with a host of live music. March will also bring our Festival of Love in celebration of Holi, the ancient Hindu festival of spring, sometimes also called the “festival of colors.” We’ll also announce our first quarterly Yard of the Month honoree in this busy month.
April’s highlight will be our first Blues on the Green live music concert at the Sweetwater Club lawn.
In May, we’ll host our popular Spring Market, complete with creative resident vendors and other local businesses. The Spring Garage Sale will give residents a chance to clean out and make some green, as well as find new treasures.
June will bring our annual Summer’s Out bash at the Sweetwater Club, celebrating the end of another year at our highly regarded Lake Travis ISD schools. We’ll also announce our second Yard of the Month honoree in June.
The July 4th Pool Party at the Sweetwater Club will be July’s big event.
In August, we’ll mark the end of summer with our annual Back To School Movie Night and School Supply Drive. We’ll also observe National Night Out as another opportunity to get to know your wonderful neighbors.
For September, there’s the Fall Garage Sale and another Yard of the Month winner. The month’s big event will be a Wine & Cheese Silent Auction and social at the Overlook Club, complete with live music.
October will bring our Halloween Masquerade Park at the Overlook Club, with live music and spooky costumes.
In November, our Holiday Bazaar will kick off the holiday season before Thanksgiving, offering residents an early opportunity to shop our creative resident artisans and local vendors, with live music, refreshments and entertain adding to the festive air at the Sweetwater Club.
December will bring our annual Cookies with Santa party at the Sweetwater Club, and a final Yard of the Month winner, making for a festive end to yet another year of neighborly friendship and new connections at Sweetwater.
