Sweetwater model home grand opening on Saturday May 9th
Located in a beautiful Hill Country setting near Lake Travis and the Hill Country Galleria, Sweetwater has a sweet deal for visitors during its model home grand opening and “Open House” event this weekend.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, visitors who stop by the Sweetwater Welcome Center can get a coupon for a free mini cupcake from Hey Cupcake!, which will be serving its popular confections in Sweetwater’s new Hillcrest neighborhood village. Kona Ice will also be on hand to offer free snow cones.
These sweet treats celebrate the grand opening of stunning new model homes by Coventry Homes and M/I Homes in Hillcrest, offering prices from the low $400,000s.
Homebuilders in all six of Sweetwater’s distinctive neighborhood villages are joining the grand opening celebration, with sweet treats at their model homes throughout this 1,400-acre community, located in the highly regarded Lake Travis Independent School District.
Also, 26 new homes available for quick move-in in all Sweetwater neighborhoods will be showcased in a special “Open House” event this weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday. Special signs will mark “Open House” homes throughout Sweetwater, and visitors can pick up a list of these available properties at the Welcome Center.
Sweetwater offers new homes priced from the high $200,000s to $800,000s by leading homebuilders including Ashton Woods Homes, Chesmar Homes, Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes, Drees Custom Homes, M/I Homes, River Oaks Homes and Ryland Homes.
On Saturday, visitors can follow the smell of cupcakes from the Welcome Center to Hillcrest, where Coventry Homes and M/I Homes are celebrating the grand opening of two new fully furnished model homes.
In both model homes, visitors can step out onto the covered patios – or simply look out the windows – to see some of the breathtaking Hill Country scenery that makes Sweetwater so popular with homebuyers. Like many homes in Sweetwater, these model homes overlook the greenbelt trails that meander throughout the community’s scenic canyons and ridges.
These trails are a defining feature of Sweetwater, which will devote nearly 700 acres – roughly half of its overall acreage – to trails, parks and natural open space. The community has completed about 4.5 miles of trails to date, and ultimately plans to have a trail network spanning 10 miles.
Coventry’s new model, Design 3563, has soaring two-story ceilings in the grand foyer and the spacious family room. Like most of the rear-facing rooms, the downstairs primary bedroom suite has relaxing canyon and trail views.
The first-floor plan also includes a guest bedroom suite, a study and a gameroom. Upstairs, this model features two more bedrooms and a teen retreat. A three-car garage is also included. Buyers can customize this 3,580-square-foot plan with options for a fifth bedroom, a theater room, an outdoor kitchen and more.
M/I Homes is spotlighting its new Travis model, a flexible 1.5-story plan with four bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The covered front porch offers a warm welcome, and provides an inspiring view for the study, located right off the foyer. The best views, however, are from the open family room and kitchen area, which opens to the huge covered patio overlooking the trail and canyons. With its bow-bay window, the luxurious primary suite also shares this view.
The Travis includes a formal dining room, and the model displays the optional upstairs gameroom and media room, which increases the plan to 3,880 square feet. The split garage design offers parking for three cars while creating an attractive stone and brick exterior.
With these new models, Sweetwater now offers a total of nine decorated models. Like the Sweetwater Welcome Center, all models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Sunday hours from noon to 6 p.m.
Voted “Best Master-Planned Community” in 2014 by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin, Sweetwater offers an unbeatable location with highly regarded public schools and popular recreational amenities. Sweetwater is also a natural gas community – a benefit since natural gas burns cleaner and costs less than propane.
One of the most progressive public school districts in Texas, the Lake Travis Independent School District is well known for its excellence in academic and extracurricular programs, its modern and well-equipped facilities, and its dedicated and highly qualified staff.
Sweetwater students attend Lake Travis High School, which is consistently included on annual lists of America’s top high schools by Newsweek and U.S. News & World Report. Young residents also attend nearby West Cypress Hills Elementary and the new Lake Travis Middle School, both opened in 2014.
Along with trails, amenities include the Sweetwater Club, a 10-acre social and recreational complex that includes a resort-style pool with a beach entry, lap lanes, and an adjacent splash pad. The Clubhouse hosts events throughout the year, from yoga classes and book club meetings, to community-wide celebrations such as the Wildflower Festival and Holiday Market.
The Sweetwater Club also has athletic fields and a sport court for residents of all ages to play and practice. The event lawn hosts popular events such as outdoor movies, and the dog park offers a special place for four-legged family members. Residents can also rent the club for their own special events and parties.
Visitors will also enjoy an impressive wildflower display along Sweetwater’s main thoroughfare. The blooms are part of an extensive ecological restoration project between Sweetwater and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, designed to restore the community’s native wildflowers and grasses.
For a community with such a scenic and relaxing environment, Sweetwater offers a location that is very convenient to shopping, with the Hill Country Galleria and the Shops at the Galleria only five minutes away. Downtown Austin is only 22 miles away via Highway 71 and Southwest Parkway. Major employment centers along Loop 360 and in southwest Austin are even closer.
It all adds up to a community that offers a sweet lifestyle year ‘round. It’s just that this Saturday, Sweetwater will be a little bit sweeter with free cupcakes and other grand opening festivities.
Sweetwater is located off Hwy 71, 3 miles west of Bee Cave Parkway/Hamilton Pool Road.
