Sweetwater’s newest park designed for all ages
Planned to open in summer 2018, Sweetwater’s newest park offers something for residents of every age.
For the young ones, the park will have a shaded playground, a boulder play feature, a log swing set, and nature play logs and hop rocks.
All of these amenities will feature naturalistic elements, designed to harmonize with Sweetwater’s beautiful Hill Country environment. For example, the shaded play structure will have the organic lines of a tree, and the swing set posts will look like faux logs.
For those wanting a more tranquil or contemplative experience, this park will also include a butterfly garden, with benches to sit and enjoy. Pathways will meander throughout the park, and will connect to Sweetwater’s overall trail system.
Bike racks will be provided for residents who prefer to ride over, and there will be a pet waste station for those who want to bring their four-legged friends.
Other features of this new park will include an open lawn and soccer field, and a picnic area with a grill.
In keeping with the natural theme, existing trees will be enhanced with additional plantings, and a landscape berm will add visual interest.
Located along a new section of Pedernales Summit Parkway, this new amenity will also include a mail pavilion for two new Sweetwater neighborhoods.
One neighborhood, now open, provides more homesites for new homes priced from the high $200,000s by Chesmar and Perry.
When it opens, this park will be part of more than 700 acres of recreational amenities and natural open space at Sweetwater.
