By the way – why is it called Bee Cave? According to history, the first settlers who arrived in the 1850s discovered large colonies of wild honeybees that lived in caves and other areas along the banks of Barton Creek and Little Barton Creek.  Sweetwater pays homage to the area's heritage by installing six beehives in the community.  Learn more about our Sweetwater honeybees.
