Bee Cave ranks high for family-friendly quality of life
Sweetwater is proud to be located near Bee Cave, which gets high ratings in many quality of life categories from the national review website, Niche.
Bee Cave has an overall Niche grade of A+, with an additional A+ for the Public Schools category. Like Sweetwater, the Bee Cave area is served by the highly regarded Lake Travis Independent School District.
Statewide, Bee Cave ranks No. 10 in Texas on Niche’s “2018 Places with the Best Public Schools in Texas” list. In the Austin area, it ranks No. 4.
Residents of all ages love Bee Cave, and the area is particularly attractive to young professionals, ranking No. 2 in the Austin area on Niche’s “2018 Best Suburbs for Millennials” list.
Other Niche lists where Bee Cave scores high include “Safest Suburbs in Travis County” (No. 4) and “Best Suburbs to Raise a Family in Travis County” (No. 6).
Bee Cave also gets an A+ grade from Niche in the “Good for Families” category, along with A- grades for Nightlife, Diversity and Health & Fitness.

By the way – why is it called Bee Cave? According to history, the first settlers who arrived in the 1850s discovered large colonies of wild honeybees that lived in caves and other areas along the banks of Barton Creek and Little Barton Creek.
