2019 Benefit Home under construction in Sweetwater
Sweetwater offers many new homes, but right now, one of them is just a little bit more special than the rest. It’s the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin’s 2019 Benefit Home, now under construction by Chesmar Homes, on a Sweetwater homesite donated by Newland.
Available for purchase in 2019, the Benefit Home is being built mostly, if not entirely, through donations of construction materials, supplies, labor, management and monies donated by HBA members.
The home will be sold on the open market at actual value, with the majority of net proceeds benefiting the local Austin area charity designated by the HBA. For 2019, that charity is HomeAid Austin, the local chapter of a national organization working to provide housing for today’s homeless. HomeAid builds and renovates multi-unit shelters for homeless families and individuals through local chapters in Austin and 17 other markets across the country.
Last year’s Benefit Home raised $95,000 for the designated charity.
Located at 6124 Llano Stage Trail, the 2019 Benefit Home features Chesmar’s 1.5-story Bristol plan, a spacious design with 3,656 square feet. This home has 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a study, gameroom and oversized 2-car garage.
The open family room overlooks a spacious outdoor living area, and the kitchen is a chef’s dream, with two large islands. Most of the living space is located on the main level, with the gameroom and fifth bedroom upstairs. Buyers have the option of building this upstairs bedroom as a media room with double doors.
The 2019 Benefit Home is Newland’s latest project with HomeAid Austin. Previously, Newland has worked with HomeAid to build the Texas Baptist Children’s Home in Round Rock, and donated a homesite in Rancho Sienna for the 2015 Benefit HomeAid. Nicolle Ramia, Newland’s marketing director for Austin, recently joined the board of directors for HomeAid Austin.
