Roofline retreat adds outdoor living space to Pulte’s Nelson model home in Sweetwater
Pulte’s rooftop balcony, an idea showcased in this builder’s fully furnished Nelson model home in Sweetwater, was included in a recent webinar of top housing design trends from DesignLens, the building industry’s largest online library of photo tours for model homes and master-planned communities.
Calling the rooftop outdoor living space one of “the most successful and inspirational designs from all over the country,” DesignLens commended it for balancing modern and traditional architecture. “This preserves the more traditional roofline, while providing outdoor space to enjoy the beautiful views.”
While DesignLens was specifically referencing a Pulte home in Virginia, the same rooftop patio can be found in Pulte’s Nelson model home in Sweetwater.
Available as an option, this rooftop patio measures more than 17 by 14 feet, or nearly 250 square feet – the size of a spacious room.
Two sides are enclosed by the exterior walls of the home. The other two sides are surrounded by iron railings, for unobstructed views of Sweetwater’s beautiful Hill Country setting.
As a bonus, the open upper patio creates a cover for the downstairs patio, providing two large outdoor living areas for this home.
