Lake Travis ISD ranks No. 1 in sports, No. 2 overall in Travis County
The highly regarded Lake Travis Independent School District serving Sweetwater scored an A+ overall grade in the 2020 school ratings from Niche, a national organization that reviews schools based on rigorous analysis of large data sets.
Home to the championship Cavaliers, Lake Travis ISD ranks as the No. 1 Best School District for Athletes in the Austin Area. This ranking is based on student and parent reviews of athletics, athletic participation by boys and girls, the number of K-12 sports championships won, and the number of interscholastic sports offered.
Lake Travis ISD also ranks as the No. 2 Best School District in Travis County, which includes much of the Greater Austin area. Along with its overall A+ grade, Lake Travis ISD earned A+ grades for Academics and College Prep. It earned As for Teachers and Clubs & Activities, and an A- or Health & Safety.

- Lake Travis High School has an overall A+ grade, with A’s for Academics, Teachers and College Prep. It ranks as the No. 2 Best High School for Athletes in the Austin Area.
- Lake Travis Middle School has an overall A grade, with an A for Academics and an A+ for Teachers. It ranks among the top 10% of the Best Public Middle Schools in Travis County and the Best Public Middle School Teachers in Travis County.
- West Cypress Hill Elementary also has an overall A grade, with an A for Academics and an A+ for Teachers. It is among the top 10% of the 268 elementary schools ranked by Niche in the Greater Austin area.
