Meet the neighbors: Lindsey Rowell and Steffen Canty
Meet Lindsey Rowell and Steffen Canty, and their son, Knox. As one of the newest families in Sweetwater, they’re already enjoying exploring Austin and the surrounding Hill Country.
- Where are you from originally?
We are from Orange County, California.
- How did you come to live at Sweetwater?
We came out to visit Austin and we found Sweetwater through our real estate agent. We fell in love with the community and the surrounding area, and we knew it would be a good fit for our family.
- What are your favorite things about the community?
We love that Sweetwater is surrounded by rolling hills, with miles of trails for us to explore. We can’t wait to try out the pool at the Sweetwater Club.
- Tell us about your family.
We are high school sweethearts who got married on Valentine’s Day, 2015. We have one son, Knox, who recently turned one, and a four-year-old Husky, Kya. Steffen works in cyber security, and Lindsey is a corporate recruiter. We love being outdoors and we are enjoying exploring our new city.
- What’s your favorite local place to go out on a date?
We like Wild Kitchen & Bar in Bee Cave. We don’t have family here, so when we go out on date nights, we like going places where Knox can have fun, too.
- What surprised you about living here?
There are a ton of out-of-state transplants!
- Can you share something that very few people know about you?
We love craft beer and we would one day love to open a brewery.
