For 2020, our floorcast sees five main trends in flooring for new homes. These include realistic wood-look flooring in ceramic, laminate and other easy-care materials, along with new choices in waterproof flooring, textured looks and personalized patterns. 

For 2020, consumers are tiring of stark grays and looking for colors that delight the senses. Blue is the easiest possible entry point from the world of neutrals to the world of color, so maybe that’s why blues are all the rage for this year’s Color of the Year selections from leading paint companies and color experts.

Jennifer Tate and Kevin Gilligan happily traded the stars of L.A. for the real stars twinkling above Sweetwater, finding a new home they could have never afforded in California. They’ve also found new careers, and a backyard for their dog, Lady.

Shannon and Tyler Mangin moved to Sweetwater in 2014, making them two of our earliest residents. Over the years, they’ve seen Sweetwater grow with the addition of new trails and amenities such as the fitness center at the Sweetwater Club. The latest thing they’re excited about is the Overlook Club, offering swimming and socializing with scenic Hill Country views.

If you’ve ever planted a tree, you might enjoy the story of how Sweetwater’s 33-foot-tall Red Oak tree was installed in its new home atop Hilltop Park. The process was so painstaking, it won an award from the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association.
